If My Only Poem for Today

When I rise
to a new day of life
one more time;

impressing me
to press forward—
expressing sentiments
and my words of
this wondrous
experience.

If this is the only
poem to float
from my lips this day,

let me find fulfillment
with the breaking dawn;

let my satisfaction come
before I go on my way

in a simple phrase,
in one bare line
when I wake
and say—

nothing more,
and nothing less;
Just in a simple
breath—

thank you’.

If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough.
~ Meister Eckhart

Always let there be gratitude in everything you do. It’s recognizing something outside of yourself is taking the initial action for your wellbeing, usually expecting nothing in return.

When you are mindful that all these other forces are making an effort for your wellbeing, it helps you show up in the world the same way.

When you raise with a simple, ‘thank you’, you’re starting off ahead of the game.
